Whether you’re a history enthusiast, nature lover, or adventurer, Bosnia has something extraordinary to offer.

Sarajevo: The City Where East Meets West
Surrounded by Olympic mountains of the Dinaric Alps, Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and quite literally where the East clashed into West. It is one of the most historically interesting and cuturally diverse places in the world. Sarajevo’s unique blend of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslavian heritage is visible in every corner of the city. The Old Town (Baščaršija) is a maze of cobbled streets, historic mosques, and lively markets, offering visitors a taste of its colorful past. The Islamic, Orthodox, Catholic and Judaic influences and religious traditions live on side by side here, in a stunning natural setting. The city’s vast historic diversity is strongly reflected in its architecture. Parts of the city have a very Western-European look, while other parts of the city, sometimes just across the street, have a completely distinct Ottoman feel. Even the turbulant and oftentimes tragic parts of Sarajevo’s past have played an important role forming the multiculturally tolerant, cosmopolitan European capital we love to explore today.
Mostar: A Historic Bridge Over the Neretva River
Often referred to as the melting pot of the Balkans, the charming town of Mostar will capture your heart with its cobblestoned streets, old Turkish style buildings, and a beautiful bridge spanning across the picturesque Neretva river. What started of as a small town on the trade route between the Adriatic Coast and central Bosnia has become one of Bosnia & Herzegovina’s most popular destinations.
Mostar’s most notable landmark is the 16th century stone bridge, known as Stari Most, built by Suleiman the Magnificent while the city was under Ottoman rule. If you visit Mostar during the warmer months, you will get to witness brave and talented local men diving 72 feet into the rushing Neretva river below. This practice of diving off of the old bridge has been a cultural and historic tradition of the city since 1664. The Old Town of Mostar is filled with winding streets, stone houses, and vibrant markets that evoke the charm of its Ottoman roots. The city also carries the scars of its turbulent past, but it has rebuilt itself into a place of beauty and cultural fusion. Mostar is the perfect central location to explore Bosnia & Herzegovina from.
Blidinje: A Hidden Gem in Nature
If you’re a nature lover looking for a peaceful retreat, Blidinje Nature Park is the perfect escape. Located in the heart of the Dinaric Alps, Blidinje is known for its beautiful landscapes, pristine lakes, and dense forests. It’s also a popular destination for hiking, skiing, and wildlife watching. Whether you’re visiting in the summer to enjoy the lush greenery or in the winter for skiing, Blidinje offers tranquility and adventure in equal measure.
Sutjeska National Park: A Nature Lover’s Paradise
Sutjeska National Park is one of the oldest and most biodiverse national parks in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Located in the south-east of the country, it’s a place where dense forests, crystal-clear rivers, and rugged mountains dominate the landscape. It’s a haven for outdoor activities like hiking, wildlife watching, and even camping. The park is also home to Perućica, one of Europe’s last remaining primeval forests, and the breathtaking Skakavac Waterfall.
Kravice Waterfalls: Bosnia’s Natural Wonderland
Located near the town of Ljubuški, Kravice Waterfalls is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
